OWLink Single Fiber Technology Captures Prestigious 2008 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Design & Engineering Innovation Award

OWLink’s HD Digital Light Link FO2850 Records One of the Highest Scores Ever in the Video Accessories Category; Award Demonstrates High Interest for HD Digital Home Solutions at CES

IRVINE, Calif., November 26, 2007 – OWLink Technology, a leading provider of innovative technology that transmits high definition digital video, audio and control signals over a single transparent fiber optic link, today announced the company’s HD Digital Light Link FO2850 was selected as the Best of Innovations, Design and Engineering Award winner for the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The 2008 CES, held January 7-10 in Las Vegas, is the world’s largest consumer electronics show.

Judges awarded OWLink’s HD Digital Light Link FO2850 with one of the highest scores of the Video Accessories. OWLink’s patented technology enables the transmission of uncompressed high-definition digital video, audio and control signals over a single transparent fiber link at distances up to 1,000 ft. FO2850 is capable of transmitting 1080p HDMI, stereo audio, USB, and IR signals simultaneously using one DLI™ Fiber Optic cable. This product is well suited for connecting a set-top box, a DVD player, or a PC to a HDTV, along with many other innovative applications. The DLI™ Fiber Optic cable is about the same thickness of high-test fishing line and is virtually invisible to the naked eye after installation, eliminating the need to drill holes in drywall or put up with visible wires after installation.

“We are delighted with the verdict of the judges in selecting our FO2800 series of products for this very prestigious award,” said Paul Tzeng, President and CEO, OWLink Technology. “These products are part of a broad product offering that provides for the transmission of high definition digital video, audio and control signals simultaneously through a thin transparent DLI™ Fiber Optic cable within a 1,000 ft footprint which fits the requirements of most homes.”

OWLink has multiple OEM partnerships in place with digital home entertainment market leaders that will expand the company’s customer base and create new avenues for additional product placement. OWLink is positioned to be a strong technology leader in developing innovative products that transmit high-definition A/V signals over a fiber optic link.

OWLink’s products transmit uncompressed video/audio and comply with Studio-approved HDCP content protection technologies. OWLink technology enables home users to place the video and audio equipments in the most convenient location in the home without opening walls, ceilings or floors to run cable. By deploying a simple A/V switch, one set of source devices can be accessed by multiple displays throughout the home. Each display can access different video and audio source devices, making it possible to watch the game on high-definition television while listening to music from the stereo system.

The award-winning FO2800/FO2850 components easily lend themselves to commercial applications such as sports bars, public displays, gyms, and security centers to name a few. Because OWLink’s technology is more cost-effective, upgrading complete systems for high definition are less expensive for commercial and home deployments.

Demonstrations of OWLink’s award-winning products will be held at the company’s CES suite at the Wynn Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and at the company’s booth Innovations POD IP232 at the Sands Convention Center.

World's OWLink Single-Fiber Technology Combines With Mitsubishi High Definition Television For Home Theater
Demonstrations at CES 2007

Irvine, CA January 5, 2007 - OWLink Technology has announced an exploratory relationship with Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America in which OWLink will demonstrate the compatibility of their fiber optic technology with the Mitsubishi NetCommand home theatre control system at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show, January 8-11 in Las Vegas.

OWLink's patented technology enables the transmission of uncompressed high-definition digital signals over a single transparent fiber link at distances up to 400 meters. The same fiber link supports the transmission of voice/audio data as well as bi-directional control signals. Because it is approximately the thickness of high-test fishing line, the fiber link is virtually invisible to the naked eye after installation.

NetCommands® , a feature on select Mitsubishi HDTVs, enables single remote control of an entire home theatre system. Using OWLink Technology, video and data sources, including satellite and/or cable boxes, DVD players, and home computers can be networked and controlled via fiber link several rooms away from where the television is being viewed. NetCommand® blends control of HDMI and IEEE 1394 digitally-connected products and conventional IR analog connected components into a single icon-based, on-screen control system.

"We're pleased that OWLink will be showing the connectivity capabilities of Mitsubishi high-definition televisions when NetCommand® is integrated with OWLink's fiber optic technology," said David Naranjo, Mitsubishi's director of product development. " It brings incredible flexibility to the placement and control of home theatre components, a key factor in creating the digital home of the 21 st century."

Paul Tzeng, OWLink Technology's CEO, agreed. "Our decision to demonstrate OWLink single-fiber connectivity during CES 2007 highlights the growing need for simplified connectivity to HDTV," he said. "Mitsubishi's NetCommand® is a perfect compliment to OWLink's fiber optic transmission system because the Mitsubishi HDTV can easily control all home theatre components, wherever they are located, using a single remote."

OWLink to Collaborate with Micron On High Definition Security Systems

Irvine, CA October 2, 2006 - OWLink Technology has announced it will collaborate with Micron Technology, Inc., a worldwide provider of image sensor and advanced memory solutions, in developing a reference design for a High Definition Closed Circuit Television (HD-CCTV) camera for use in industrial and residential security applications. The announcement was made during the 52nd annual ASIS International Seminar and Exhibition in San Diego, California.

HD-CCTV delivers a much higher degree of picture detail than CCTV, but is limited to a maximum cabling distance of five meters between components. Coaxial or Ethernet-based systems carry signals over greater distances, but do so by compressing the video signal, resulting in a significant loss of picture quality. Compression also delays signal transmission due to front-end processing.

OWLink's patented technology will enable the transmission of uncompressed digital signals from a Micron CMOS image sensor to a digital video recorder or PC over a single transparent fiber link at distances greater than 2,000 meters. The same fiber link will support the transmission of bi-directional control signals and voice/audio data as well.

"As this market continues its shift from standard TV resolution cameras to HD or greater resolution and frame rate cameras, it also needs to change how it moves the imagery back to the viewing or storage site, " said Paul Gallagher, Micron's imaging director of new market development. "OWLink's single fiber approach addresses this need in an efficient and practical manner without compromising on image quality."

"The CCTV market is facing serious challenges with the development of high resolution imagers because of the need for compression when transmitting video data," said Paul Tzeng, CEO of OWLink. "OWLink's single fiber solution eliminates the need to compress data, allowing high resolution image sensors to be used to their full potential. As the world's leading provider of CMOS image sensors, Micron makes a great partner for us in the development of HD-CCTV systems."
